Austin Powers in Goldmember

Ah, the third, and possibaly final installment of the hilarious Austin Powers series. I had the pleasure of seeing this movie the day after I got back from camp, and the displeasure of seeing it with my whole family...*shudder* So lets go over this section by section.

The Acting

Mike Myers is God. Period. He plays the English Swinger to perfection. Not to mention the hilariously evil Dr. Evil, the repulsive Fat Bastard, and the strange skin eating Goldmember. The testament to Myers' greatness is that in the first movie, I had no idea he was Dr. Evil til a friend pointed it out to me. Even if you ignore the fact that he did most of the writing for the film, Myers definately deserves some kind of reward.

Beyonce Knoles In a word, *puke*. Stick to you're overrated singing career tootse. I'm generally not one to be cruel, but...YOU SUCK, YOU'RE GRANDPARENTS SUCK, AND YOU'RE UNBORN CHILDREN BLOW GOAT NUTS. That is all.

Micheal Caine Yeah, sure, I would have preffered Sean Connery, and I take it so would have Mike, but Caine did a stand-up job. It wasn't spectacular, but he was believable as Austin's pop. Probably the next best thing to Mr. Bond

One Sentence Acting Critique

Number 2. - Good for what he was

MiniMe - How can you not love Minime

Fred Savage - I kept waiting for the voiceover to say "I didn't realize it at the time, but it was the first occasion I truly felt like a man"

Frou - She played nice trailer park trash

Scott Evil - The bald thing....no.

Sharks with Frickin Lazer - I smell an oscar

Cameos - Hell even Britney Spears was funny, three thumbs up.

The Comedy

Mike Myers, as I said previously, wrote almost the entire thing. Many of the jokes were recycled from the last movie. Many of the jokes were easy cussing or scatalogical humor jokes, easy stuff. However, alot of other stuff was really original and clever. I hope not to spoil the movie for everyone, but some of the scenes with Micheal Caine were tremendous "You don't even have a nametag, do you?".

Special EffectsThe sign of truly great special effects is that one can not tell they are special effects. One would not normally expect this level of detail for a comedy movie but the audience was blessed with a massive amount of well done special effects, not to mention brilliant cinematography.

Overall

My most rewarding experience at the movies in quite some time. The only thing it was missing was Will Ferrell, still, that joke's been overdone. The Jay-Z bit could easily have been skipped over. A little better than the first, not quite as good as the second, but extremely cool. Highly Recommended
